Végétal 24 is a visual design project created around a fictional exhibition presented in Angers. The project aims to showcase artists working with plant-based themes by offering an elegant, contemporary, and coherent visual identity, adapted across different cultural outreach materials. The goal was to design a complete visual experience to accompany visitors before, during, and after the exhibition.

Project overview

Végétal 24 revolves around the creation of a comprehensive visual universe for an art exhibition. The project includes the design of an exhibition booklet, a promotional poster, invitation cards, and signage integrated into the exhibition space.

All of the materials were designed to work as a coherent system, capable of guiding visitors, contextualizing the works, and extending the experience beyond the visit through portable printed formats.

Défis

The main challenge lay in the need to create a visual identity capable of receding in favor of the works while still asserting a strong atmosphere.
It was also necessary to ensure perfect consistency across a range of materials (print, signage, publishing), while respecting the readability constraints specific to an exhibition context and to diverse audiences.

Goals

The project’s main objective was to showcase the exhibited artists and their works through a strong, clear, and elegant art direction.
The project also aimed to design clear and accessible interpretive materials, enabling visitors to better understand the artistic approaches while offering an immersive, high-quality visual experience.

Approach & Key Decisions

The art direction is based on a subtle, organic, and contemporary aesthetic, inspired by the plant world. The typographic work, layout choices, and use of images were designed to create visual breathing room and support reading without clutter.

The materials were designed as complementary elements of the exhibition, playing a role in mediation and extending the artistic experience, while remaining functional and elegant.

Results & Learning

Végétal 24 results in a set of coherent and refined visual materials, capable of effectively supporting an art exhibition. The project demonstrates my ability to design a comprehensive art direction, work on editorial layout, and create cultural mediation materials adapted to a real-world context.

This experience highlights my command of editorial design, information hierarchy, and the creation of visual worlds designed to enhance content and the user experience.
