Project overview

The project aimed to design an event visual identity applied to printed materials intended for a broad audience.
The deliverables include :

  • a large-format poster intended for public space,

  • a booklet gathering programming, practical information, and editorial content.

The challenge was to reconcile visual impact, readability, and graphic coherence, in a cultural context for the general public.

Défis

  • Graphically translate the raw energy of rock without falling into a cliché aesthetic.

  • Manage a high density of information in the booklet while maintaining a smooth reading experience.

  • Create an identity strong enough to function well both in isolation (poster) and in editorial system (booklet).

  • Maintain a balance between expressive illustration and informative function.

Goals

  • Create a immediately identifiable poster that can attract attention in public spaces.

  • Develop a coherent visual language between the poster and the booklet.

  • Structure the information clearly to enhance the experience of the festival-goers.

  • Offer a memorable graphic universe in line with the spirit of the festival.

Approach & Key Decisions

  • Choice of a strong central illustration, based on an iconic gesture associated with rock culture, serving as a visual anchor.

  • Contrasting color palette, dominated by warm and dark tones, to enhance intensity and readability.

  • Work on typographic hierarchy to clearly distinguish titles, programming, and practical information.

  • Layout of the booklet considered as a visual rhythm, alternating graphic breathing spaces and informative blocks.

Every decision was guided by the desire to create a graphic system that is both expressive and functional.

Results & Learning

The project results in a coherent and impactful visual identity, effectively adapted for the poster and the booklet.
The whole offers a clear reading of the event while asserting a strong graphic signature, capable of fitting into the universe of major festivals.
This project allowed me to strengthen my skills in editorial design, event artistic direction, and management of multi-platform graphic systems.
